The Director of Career Development is the chief career development officer in Boise and is responsible for individualized personal and academic counseling, event planning, mentoring, coaching, guidance, and networking support for College of Law students and alumni. The Director reports to the College of Law’s Assistant Dean for Career Development in Moscow and is part of the student services team. The Director will coordinate and collaborate with other administrative offices to achieve the College of Law’s statewide goals.
Position is Fiscal Year appointment.

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and good standing bar membership in any state.
Ability to work independently and to consistently exercise discretion and sound ethical judgment, particularly in dealing with confidential matters.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills.
Knowledge of career development issues, particularly those faced by attorneys and aspiring attorneys.
Knowledge of issues related to higher education administration.
Capacity to be self-starting and ability to work on multiple tasks. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel. Must be able to work evenings and weekends to attend professional meetings, receptions and conferences outside the 40-hour work week.
Working knowledge of personal computers, word and data processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other software applications.
1-2 years of career development experience.
Advanced knowledge of legal employment trends and career development.
Membership or willingness to obtain membership in the Idaho State Bar.
Professional experience in higher education.
Positive attitude and professional demeanor in office including ability to interact well with faculty, staff, students, alumni, attorneys and the public.

The University of Idaho College of Law delivers a focused, high-quality curriculum to students completing their Juris Doctor degrees. We provide one outstanding law program with two locations — one in Moscow and one in Boise. All students complete their first year of study in Moscow and then have the option of finishing their degree in either Moscow or Boise. Starting in fall 2017 students will be able to complete their first year in Boise.
