Duties & Responsibilities Professional Development Event Duties (50%) • Supervise PD Assistant’s dissemination of attorney program information and materials. • Communicate directly with presenters regarding program logistics and materials. • Moderate CLE programs and serve as point of contact CLE presenters and webinar technology during the live program. • Work with AV team to analyze needs of a program to identify appropriate AV platform for that program.
Professional Development Departmental Duties (50%) • Provide back-up services to the department on an as-needed basis, for instance global programs, CLE questions and Litigation training assistance.
• Work with PD assistant to ensure calendar updates (HPC outlook calendar, firm-wide events calendar, GT News, HPC intranet page and practice group pages). • Monitor mentor lists, new hire notices and distribute information to new firm associates. • Track mentors and mentoring liaisons. • Assist with global distance orientation programs for first year associates and lateral associates. • Mentor and guide the PD assistant including answering questions, helping monitor workload and following up on completion of tasks. • Coordinate Illinois Bar-approved mentoring program, including ensuring mentor-mentee pairs meet regularly and complete required paperwork to obtain CLE from IL State MCLE Board.
Skills & Competencies • Ability to communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing. • Maintain confidentiality and exercise judgment at all times. • Superb organizational skills and attention to detail. • Highly responsive and client service oriented. • Familiarity with viDesktop/viEval is preferred. • Strong MS Office proficiency including solid familiarity with PowerPoint. • Ability to use technology to enable team based knowledge management. • Candidate must be a self-started with the capacity to own and manage projects while proactively anticipating the needs of the team.
Qualifications & Prior Experience • Bachelor’s degree required. • Previous experience supporting professional development programs, preferably with a law firm or professional services organization.
