As a member of the Firmwide Attorney Recruiting and Development Department, the ideal candidate will have two or more years experience in recruiting, training & development, or professional services human resources. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing attorney training and development programs and initiatives including, but not limited to: Kirkland in-house training programs, state mandated CLE; firm-wide educational initiatives as well as maintenance of the CEManager database, statistics and calendar updates. This position also supports local recruiting efforts and works with the local attorney recruiting and development team to support the associates committee, Colleagues for Life initiative, alumni engagement efforts, diversity and women’s leadership initiative programs. This position will collect information and monitor California Bar membership as well as submit annual California Bar dues for attorneys in San Francisco and Palo Alto and will assist local attorneys with other state bar reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Essential job functions include those set forth below. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. Ability to work overtime and flexibility of schedule is required.
Coordinate in-house training programs for the San Francisco office:
Book necessary space, technical needs and meal requirements
Prepare attendance sheet for every meeting through electronic CLE database and send to other offices when appropriate for CLE credit
Prepare all handout materials for distribution
Maintain training and development events in Outlook, electronic CLE database, the FW Training and Development Calendar as well as internal spreadsheets
Issue certificates of attendance for CLE programs and deliver to attorneys for signature and maintain individual attorney CLE files
Update CLE attendance in electronic database on a consistent basis
Send electronic evaluations for all trainings offering California CLE credit
Prepare annual compliance reports for each attorney regarding individual CLE compliance
Maintain and organize attorney training files and materials, hard copy where required as well as electronic versions
Track attorney attendance at training programs as required
Track program expenses and assist with budget preparation
Prepare and send bi-weekly or monthly attorney training program email including in-office and external training opportunities
Assist in new attorney hiring process for the San Francisco office, including:
Prepare attorneys for hire in Recruiting Database
Enter new hires in the Personnel Action Request System
Prepare and finalize New Attorney Orientation schedules
Coordinate first-day lunches
Coordinate law clerk payroll and time entry as needed
Provide assistance with the WLI and Diversity Programming for the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices, including:
Coordinate calendar and events
Coordinate logistics for internal meetings (both Firm-wide and Bay Area)
Research venues, prepare contract agreements, and finalize event details
Coordinate All Attorney Events and Happy Hours for the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices:
Maintain shared calendar
Create and send invites using Outlook
Maintain RSVP’s and update catering accordingly
Coordinate New Attorney and Summer Associate Directory for the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices.
Assist with Associate Review process as needed.
Coordinate and track attorney bar dues, bar exam fees and bar review course payments.
Other general office duties as assigned by the Director of Attorney Recruiting & Professional Development in the San Francisco and Palo Alto offices.

Education: Four-year degree or the equivalent.
Experience: Two+ years experience in recruiting, attorney training & development or law firm human resources.
