The Talent Department of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP has an opening for a Talent Coordinator in the Los Angeles office. The Talent Coordinator works with the Director of Administration and the Attorney Recruiting Department to coordinate all aspects of the recruitment of lateral and summer associates; works with the Senior Manager of Career and Professional Development and the Professional Development Department to coordinate all aspects of training programs and MCLE compliance.
Providing administrative support to the Director of Administration and the Talent Department regarding all aspects of the summer associate hiring process, the summer associate program and the lateral associate hiring process. This includes scheduling interviews, coordinating interview schedules, greeting candidates, tracking candidates, event planning, etc.
Preparing orientation materials and administering the orientation process for summer associates, including orientation schedules, meetings and office tours.
Providing organizational and administrative assistance for all California, firm-wide, and practice group specific training programs and aid in the coordination of all firm-wide training programs, including the coordination of logistics in collaboration with other departments.
Coordinating the delivery of all MCLE programs in the Los Angeles office; and, in collaboration with other Professional Development staff, process California MCLE credit for any California or firm-wide training program.
Maintaining course materials and attendance records as required by MCLE rules.
Assisting firm-wide California-barred attorneys with MCLE tracking and compliance.
Coordinating the collection and analysis of feedback from in-house training programs and recommend improvements based on feedback.
Assisting with the development of internal marketing emails for Professional Development.
Updating the firm-wide training calendar to include all in-house training programs.
Updating the PLI roster and respond to questions as needed.
Assisting partners and counsel with scheduling their associate development meetings.
Assisting with planning of Firm and associate events, attending as needed.
Attending and assisting with Firm events, as needed.
Performing other duties as requested by members of the Talent Department, Recruiting Department or the Director of Administration.
College degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of prior Recruiting and/or Professional Development experience, including experience coordinating training and MCLE, is preferred.
Strong skills in MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook, viRecruit, CE Manager and other databases are preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills, both oral and written.
Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and to prioritize and manage time appropriately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
Capability to grasp new concepts quickly and to adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and be committed to providing excellent customer service.
A proficiency with standard office procedures working in a team/collaborative environment.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
