Equip for Equality is a civil rights organization for people with disabilities in Illinois. We are seeking a full-time Staff Attorney for a fellowship to focus on litigation and advocacy enforcing the civil rights of people with disabilities in the prison system. The Fellow will primarily work as a staff attorney on Rasho v. Baldwin, a class action lawsuit that seeks to improve the treatment and conditions for incarcerated people with mental illness. Some travel to Illinois prisons will be required. This fellowship is funded through September 2019, with the possibility of being extended and can be located in any of our offices.

The selected candidate must have a law degree, excellent research and writing skills, and a strong commitment to civil rights of people with disabilities in the prison and criminal justice systems.
