Under the general direction of the Professional Development Manager and according to established Firm policies and procedures, is responsible for assisting the Manager with all aspects of the Firm’s professional development initiatives in the Firm’s California offices. Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Professional Development Manager with all aspects of the Firm’s professional development programs, initiatives, and activities.
Provide administrative support to the Professional Development Manager with the California offices’ MCLE initiatives, including coordinating accreditation of in-house programs and supporting the Firm’s MCLE database.
Assist in developing curricula and coordinating and promoting individual programs.
Assist with the Firm’s other professional development programs including, but may not be limited to, non-MCLE-related training and development programs, associate evaluations, mentor programs, and attorney retention programs.
Assist with activities related to associate and summer associate onboarding activities, maintaining databases and generating reports.
Provide administrative support as needed in the planning and administration of the California office’s summer program including, but may not be limited to, coordinating events, educational programs, and summer associate reviews.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree required and two or more years of experience; preferably with law firm experience especially in training, development, marketing, or recruiting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficient with knowledge and understanding of various database systems and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Ability to learn, utilize, and implement the Firm’s specialized MCLE technological database (viLMS preferred) in order to maintain the MCLE database.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, candidates, clients, staff, and outside contacts.
Ability to understand and support Firm goals, services, culture, and strategy in order to present self and represent the Firm in a positive, professional manner.
Outstanding organizational, planning, and project management skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information. Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish concise, detailed information in report format, written correspondence, e?mail, or verbally.
Dependable team player who exhibits a high degree of initiative, critical-thinking skills, and excellent judgment in order to assure the professional integrity of the professional development program. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.
Exhibit high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.
Ability to act independently within scope of the position’s responsibilities and collaborate with high energy, creativity, and vision in order to manage as a decision-maker and contributor on all levels.
Excellent analytical and technical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic in order to perform professional development essential duties and maintain the MCLE database.
Proactive with demonstrated troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills in order to prioritize and manage multiple and diverse projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply mathematical concepts when computing, reconciling balances, verifying numerical data, and preparing various reports and statistics.
Ability to occasionally retrieve and distribute files, written documentation, or office supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
Ability to work overtime during peak periods of the professional development process.
