Cadence Group is seeking a Project Manager/Librarian to manage an extremely large federal law library in the Washington, DC metro area. The Project Manager will oversee all collection maintenance operations including Accessioning, Maintenance, Preservation, and Inventory. The Project Manager will oversee management and maintenance of legal and legislative materials, located in multiple locations. Some night and/or weekend work may be required.
Develop staffing schedules and assignments to make maximum use of the available hours of coverage
Manage a team of approximately 15; supervise the work of Library Technicians and Library Clerks
Create daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports on the work performed
Keep client apprised of staffing issues
Develop work flow procedures manuals and training manuals for each major area
At least 2 years of prior experience working in a large library (of at least 500,000 volumes)
At least 2 years of working experience with an Integrated Library System (ILS)
At least 2 years of experience training new library staff
Experience managing collection maintenance operations in a law library
Ability to handle personnel issues in an effective manner
Accomplished MS Office user
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
Masters in Library Science from ALA accredited institution
