The Director of Diversity and Inclusion will provide management and strategic support as it pertains to Seyfarth Shaw’s Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. Focus will be on driving results for the firm’s National, Affinity-based, and local office Diversity-based programs and events, and liaising with recruiting, talent development, and marketing in this process.
The Director of Diversity and Inclusion will drive the program and management activities of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Team. Responsibilities include:
National Diversity and Inclusion Action team strategy development and strategic goal implementation through project management and coordination among the DAT network and relevant Firm leadership and teams
Management of National Diversity and Inclusion Team (DIAT) through regular support and guidance provided to the national Affinity Groups; national DIAT leadership; and local Diversity Action Teams, including the implementation of strategic business plans; coordination and strategic planning of sponsored events and programs to achieve increased ROI and sense of community; and management of regularly scheduled meetings and associated follow-up. Additional managerial support provided to Affinity Groups through contribution to their strategic agenda and individual groups’ internal growth objectives, such as pipeline building and retention, and external community engagement goals, i.e. national conference planning; goal setting; support; and analysis of ROI.
Develop and design data reporting structures for National teams and Firm leadership, such as EC, Partner Retreat, Department meetings, etc. Envision the data various stakeholders are looking for, how to present it, and trend analysis on data to gather insights/conclusions to further develop firm’s diversity & inclusion strategic goals.
Lead, develop and manage D&I programs for Seyfarth with guidance from the National DIAT Leadership and other relevant parties
Lead and coordinate efforts related to promoting the Seyfarth brand as it relates to diversity & inclusion, including preparation of annual reports, scorecards, surveys, and client or community requests. Management of national diversity-related nomination responses and subsequent accolade tracking and announcements.
Liaison between recruiting and talent development pertaining to programs and initiatives affected by diversity and inclusion, including on-boarding, the Rooney Presumption, community-based national Affinity group pipeline support, opportunities to recruit through diverse job boards and conferences, Triad mentoring, the coaching program for women income partners, quarterly talent review updates, and summer fellow recruitment.
Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Human Resources or related field preferred.
Minimum 5-8 years management experience desired, preferably within a professional services firm, with strategic, program management, and diversity & inclusion experience.
Experience with SharePoint preferred.
Advanced organizational, administrative, and time management skills. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the firm.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
