The Talent Department of Arnold & Porter has an opening for a Manager of Diversity & Inclusion in the Washington, DC office. The Manager of Diversity & Inclusion will have a Firm-wide presence, working closely with the Director of Diversity & Inclusion, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Talent Development, Human Resources, other attorney committees and senior administrative managers to ensure effective implementation of the Firm's diversity and inclusion objectives and strategies including talent acquisition, learning development, retention and engagement. The Manager is responsible for working with the Diversity & Inclusion Director, Talent Development Department and Human Resources Department to implement initiatives and projects designed to attract, develop and retain top talent from diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. The Manger embraces the work of diversity and inclusion and recognizes its value as an organizational practice. The Manager works with the Diversity & Inclusion Director and Specialist, Talent Development and Human Resources to implement training curriculum, conferences, programs, events, target organizations, and set priorities for relationships resulting in maximum business benefits.
A bachelor’s degree required. Master’s or JD degree preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a law firm, professional services or corporate environment.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a diversity and inclusion role within a law firm, professional services or corporate environment.
Experience in developing and implementing innovative D&I strategies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), viDesktop, and HTML are preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the diversity and inclusion industry.
Highly developed project management skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
Experience with event planning.
Exceptional judgment, flexibility and professionalism and ability to lead effectively while being a team player.
Professional presence, strong interpersonal, management and problem solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and presentation skills, initiative and attention to detail.
