This is a full-time position with Holland & Knight working within our financial systems team. Position requires a technical professional with a strong Customer Service focus. Position requires initiative, strong system analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. This position plays a key role with all financial applications and system support, ensuring high infrastructure integrity and business continuity, through the assessment of critical issues, process reviews, development of technical standards, application upgrades, process automation and installation of new products.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provides system maintenance, monitoring, disaster recovery, business continuity, and problem resolution for the financial systems environment.
Develop and maintains databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions.
Provide technical guidance and support to financial systems team members.
Oversee all month-end closing and monthly maintenance processes.
Manage application upgrades and other system changes.
Monitor system performance and proactively applies solutions to enhance system efficiency.
Analyze user and system requirements and documents functional technical specifications for all financial system applications.
Execute corrective actions to ensure problems are not repeated.
Maintain procedural documentation for hardware deployment and decommissioning.Troubleshoot and diagnose both hardware and software issues.
Identifies, oversees, and participates in the development of testing plans for introduction of new systems/technology and changes to existing systems/technology.
Executes testing and QA requirements in support of problem resolution.
Works with software vendors or internal resources to install, configure, and test applications.
Interfaces with IT Infrastructure Team.
Updates and/or establishes appropriate documentation for all work functions and responsibilities.
Provides application assistance and support to finance and accounting users.
Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Minimum of 8 years of infrastructure and system support experience required.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding implementation and design methodology of hardware and software in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Experience with Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012 servers.
Ability to work alone, as well as in a team, and adhere to project deadlines.
Excellent problem solving, communication and client service skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks in tandem and concurrently.
Able to work outside business hours, as needed.
Must be physically capable of moving boxes and or furniture weighing as much as 35 lbs.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or related field. MIS preferred.
Microsoft Certifications and/or DBA experience preferred.
