Business Development, Professional Legal Management
Development & Research Project Coordinator will report to and support the Chief Development Officer of the Firm who is responsible for strategic partner hiring and growth initiatives; lateral integration; non-U.S. and U.S. office integration and collaboration; Client Team Program management; and other strategic initiatives that are focused on growing and developing the Firm.
Coordinate and provide support for all projects related to strategic partner hiring and growth; lateral integration; Client Team Program management; non-US & US office integration and collaboration; and other strategic initiatives that are focused on growing and developing the Firm
Develop and maintain templates, best practices, and other documents to maintain and improve efficiency within the Department
Conduct research and due diligence related to potential laterals, potential lateral groups, and peer & aspirational firms
Conduct research related to existing clients, potential clients, industries, and geographies
Conduct research related to competitors and strategic firm wide initiatives
Assist in maintaining, updating, and organizing all materials maintained by the Firm Development Department
Assist in the development, editing, and production of presentations prepared and customized for firm leadership, partners, recruiters, and potential laterals
Assist in managing related daily news alerts, and capturing and advising on significant news that may be related to the Firm’s clients, industries, and competitors
Provide project coordination support to the CDO and the Firm Development Department
Simplify, organize, and streamline various forms of information, templates, and data utilized by the Department
Coordinate with other departments, including Business Development, Finance, Recruiting, Human Resources, and Talent Development, as needed
Be entrepreneurial and proactive and identify projects that will add value to the overarching goals of the CDO and the Firm
Work closely with the CDO to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Two plus years of marketing, business development or recruiting experience in a professional services environment required, preferably within the legal industry
One or two years of research experience in a professional services environment, preferably within the legal industry
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
Ability to handle pressure and be proactive
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical writing and researching skills
Capable of handling many projects simultaneously
Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to recognize data and calculation inconsistencies
Confident communicator; ability to work effectively with partners and senior administration of the Firm
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the following research tools is preferred: MonitorSuite, Capital IQ, Law360
