Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking to hire a Practice Innovations Analyst to join the Practice Innovations team in our Chicago office. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with fellow department members, other administrative departments and attorneys to establish creative solutions to business problems and promote attorney productivity, best practices, client service and innovation. This person will report to the Director of Practice Innovations.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Work with attorneys, Information Services, Professional Development and the Library to assess information needs and establish priorities for Firm objectives.
Assist in the development and deployment of advanced technology systems focused on legal work.
Research and evaluate tools and procedures that promote productivity and quality.
Leverage and craft solutions using our own tools, such as our Firm intranet and extranet alongside 3rd-party software.
Facilitate knowledge capture and assist in the management of knowledge repositories and systems.
Keep track of legal industry practices related to innovation, including trends, emerging technology, and implementation challenges.
Develop detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, user acceptance and system test criteria.
Champion department activities and tools to promote user adoption and education.
Bachelor’s degree (JD preferred but not required) and at least two years of experience working in a professional services or law firm environment.
Working knowledge of business analysis, knowledge management, information systems or other related field.
Knowledge of legal concepts related to the business of the Firm and the legal industry.
Knowledge of concepts governing software development processes.
Proficiency with database software and/or business systems; advanced expertise with spreadsheets and word processing tools.
Experience with content management systems.
Experience with markup and/or scripting languages; web development is a plus.
Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
Excellent time management and project management skills, with ability to work independently to meet objectives and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills.
Sharp analytical skills and close attention to detail.
Ability to work as a member of a client-service oriented team in a professional, approachable manner.
