Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a Human Resources and Business Operations Assistant to join a high-performing, enthusiastic department in our main office in Chicago. This individual will work closely with other department and administrative staff members in supporting the daily operations of the Firm.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department and the Director of Business Operations through secretarial assistance, record keeping and other administrative functions
Organizing and updating a wide variety of documents related to Firm administration and record keeping
Increasing department productivity by proactively seeking ways to improve efficiency within the department
Planning and coordinating firm-wide events such as luncheons, meetings, fundraising campaigns, parties and other special events
Maintaining accurate files; must be able to quickly and efficiently produce internal information and records
Ensuring the accuracy of a variety of documents used to communicate with the department and the Firm
Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-2 years of prior experience working in Human Resources/Administration, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
Experience or familiarity with insurance, retirement plans and law firm management is a plus
Professional presence and demeanor
Commitment to top-notch customer service
Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality at all times
Ability to prioritize effectively and follow through on assigned tasks
Excellent typing, spelling and grammar skills
Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional (Mac experience is helpful, but not required)
Comfort with web-based software
