Position Summary: The director works closely with the Assistant Dean for Graduate & International Programs to execute the Office's recruitment and enrollment strategy; leads the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment and helps oversee the onboarding process for new students. In collaboration with the marketing/communications team, faculty, and external partners the director will implement, and assess competitive admissions, recruitment and yield initiatives, mainly for the Master of Laws (LL.M.) and other non-JD programs. To support this goal, he or she will engage in enrollment management operations from application to offer/acceptance and create processes that ensure a smooth transition from admissions to student enrollment. This will be accomplished by building strong relationships with external partners and by using real-time data from a variety of sources to anticipate the needs of admissions and respond to issues as they arise. Data analysis will be particularly important in identifying areas of strength and weakness in making recommendations for strategic decisions.
The director has the authority to make independent decisions regarding the criteria for evaluating prospective applicants and related admissions decisions.
Assist the Graduate & International team with overseeing the enrollment management workflow and help meet recruiting targets for each program, establishing priorities and monitoring attainment of goals
Respond to inquiries from prospective students regarding entrance requirements, application procedures, financial aid availability, housing alternatives etc.
Read and evaluate all LL.M. applications. Provide admissions recommendations to the Assistant Dean for Graduate & International Programs.
Provide an extremely high level of organization and a commitment to a collaborative approach to idea development and implementation
Help conceive, design or maintain admissions and enrollment management systems, (CRMs) and provide policy recommendations to meet outreach and recruitment goals
Liaise with important partner schools & universities, international and domestic, and assist their administrators with the promotion of Cardozo’s LLM program to their students and alumni. Implement effective and timely admission processes for evaluating their top students in an expedited manner
Implement scholarship strategy
Under direction and guidance, plan, manage and implement events to enhance recruitment and yield
Perform recruitment activities, including writing or editing materials, and representing the school at admissions events and other forums. Plans visits to schools, schedule and make presentations, interviews and follow-up visits
Analyze data to quantify activities and recommend changes and updates
Serve as editor for all LL.M. Admissions content in the Cardozo website and other marketing materials
Research new recruitment channels based on surveys, student focus group and market data to help maximize program promotion
Take on special projects and additional responsibilities as requested by the Assistant Dean
Respond to inquiries from prospective students regarding entrance requirements, application procedures, financial aid availability, housing alternatives, etc.

Experience & Educational Background:
5-7 years professional experience required
Prior experience in law school admissions strongly preferred
J.D., or masters in higher education or counseling or other advanced degree is required
Skills & Competencies:
Advanced analytical, critical thinking, problem recognition/resolution skills
Ability to understand and easily explain the nature of the law school experience, the academic and other requirements of the field, and the key factors a successful applicant and matriculants should possess
Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population
Strong skills in analyzing and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals and reports with ability to interpret results
Strong advising and counseling skills with thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, for international or domestic students
Political acumen to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with international and domestic partner schools and universities. Ability to leverage those relationships to meet key admissions and recruitment objectives
Excellent computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programs
Knowledge of common campus-specific and experience with admissions-based systems, enrollment management CRMs; MS Office Suite; and other related programs desired
Knowledge of web site design and other technologies highly desired
Highly advanced interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to develop persuasive and compelling arguments
Ability to provide a high level of customer service and responsiveness. Strong ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to multi-task and meet demanding time frames
Ability to travel (15%-20%)
Ability to exercise a high degree of professional judgment and discretion while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
