Summary of Essential Duties:
Jones Day has an excellent full-time opportunity for a Recruiting Manager to join the recruiting team in Atlanta. We offer competitive compensation and benefits.
Under general supervision of the Office Administrator, with guidance from the Firmwide Director of Recruiting and the Atlanta Hiring Partner, the Recruiting Manager is responsible for leading and building a team to support the Office's lawyer recruiting efforts. The Recruiting Manager is expected to: demonstrate leadership, teamwork and initiative; set priorities; work effectively with lawyers regarding hiring needs; ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments; and oversee Firm and office policy and procedure compliance by those in the department.
You would be involved in meaningful aspects of legal recruiting for the office which include crafting efficient processes, building collaborative teams, and creating pathways to connect people. The Recruiting Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following items.
Law School and Summer Associate Program Responsibilities include:
managing all functions of year-round law school recruiting including initiating and developing campus visibility efforts, coordinating on-campus interviews at various law schools, scheduling candidate interviews onsite, overseeing travel arrangements and expenses, and managing the evaluation process;
coordinating the office’s summer associate program including arranging for summer associate orientation, assisting the recruiting committee in organizing social and business events, monitoring summer associate workload reports, coordinating the evaluation process, and responding to day-to-day questions and/or problems of summer associates;
responding to lawyer recruiting inquires, screening and responding to incoming resumes, and maintaining various online programs for recruiting including the generation of relevant reports; and
monitoring the Recruiting Department budget and departmental expenditures.
Lateral Recruiting Responsibilities:
Managing lateral recruiting would include assisting practice groups in identifying suitable interview candidates, and coordinating candidate interview schedules and expenses.
You would also supervise maintenance of data in the viRecruit applicant tracking system, as well as other data systems used for recruiting and the summer program (examples include viWorkAllocation and SharePoint). Responsibilities also extend to handling the generation of reports and analyzing statistics for the production of charts. The Recruiting Manager is responsible for approving and monitoring expenses related to recruiting and prepares annual office recruiting budgets.
