Pace Law School is seeking an Assistant Director, Career Counseling. The Assistant Director, Career Counseling will be primarily responsible for counseling current students and alumni about legal and alternative legal careers in all practice areas, and creating and updating resource materials.
Specifically, among other tasks, the Assistant Director will:
1. Provide individual counseling for students including reviewing resumes and cover letters, conducting mock interviews, and offering career and job search guidance and assistance. The counselor will use their best efforts to meet with assigned students at least once a semester to develop an understanding of each student’s employment interest and to proactively assist them in developing an individual career and employment strategy and provide ongoing advice regarding professional development issues.
2. Maintain the CCPD’s visibility within the law school and in wider legal community and marketplace by attending and participating in various external and internal programs and events.
3. Perform all other duties as assigned or required from time to time.
Juris Doctor degree
At least 3 years of prior experience in private law firm or government organization.
Knowledge of the legal marketplace.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
