Bradley is seeking an innovative, fearless and talented Research Specialist to assist with legal research. As a Research Specialist at Bradley, your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional and cost-effective research to attorneys, clients and staff but our ideal candidate is someone who thinks out of the box and is ready to be a force in moving the Research Services Department forward with new ideas and in collaboration with other Firm departments. Duties include but are not limited to: • Assisting users in the selection of research tools. • Researching legal topics and/or client/industry topics, analyzing and synthesizing data to provide meaningful summaries to attorneys and other department staff. • Developing user tutorials and guides. • Identifying and evaluating resources. • Coordinating product demonstrations and trials. • Creating and implementing methods for providing current awareness and business intelligence for attorneys and the Business Development Department. • Collecting and analyzing data regarding resources and services by the department to recommend improvements in departmental processes and tools. • Marketing the Research Services Department by forging collaborative relationships with attorneys, staff and other firm departments. • Additional duties as required.
Masters Degree in library/information science (from ALA accredited school), J.D., equivalent degree or experience preferred.
High level expertise of legal and business databases such as LexisAdvance, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Cheetah, Capital IQ, Hoovers as well as other major subject specific resources.
Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and document management systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Client service focused.
Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Various physical activity may be required, including but not limited to: crouching, reaching, lifting above the head, using a step stool, etc. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
