Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer, the Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator will be an integral member of firm’s diversity and inclusion (“D&I”) team and play a key role by providing support to the Chief Diversity Officer, assisting with the implementation and enhancement of the Firm’s diversity and inclusion strategic initiatives and programs, and serving as a core member of the D&I team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with a cross-functional team to assist with implementing best practices related to diversity and inclusion in recruitment, development and retention.
Assist with drafting internal and external diversity-related communication materials.
Collaborate with Marketing on reviewing and updating the Firm’s diversity page and affinity group pages on the intranet and inclusion related website(s) and other digital platforms.
May conduct initial research on trends in diversity and inclusion, prepare a summary of findings, and make recommendations.
Gather diversity-related information and statistics needed for survey responses, RFPs, client/potential requests, as well as internal stakeholder requests.
In collaboration with other departments, plan and prepare materials for diversity-related events or conferences.
Assist Chief Diversity Officer with outreach to students, law students, Summer Associates, and new hires, and promote awareness of GT’s diversity and inclusion strategic initiatives and programs.
Handle requests for diversity-related sponsorships, events and awards, including, but not limited to, coordinating with Marketing, Events, participating attorneys, external organizations and other stakeholders, as needed.
Monitor and provide status updates on GT’s diversity and inclusion strategic initiatives and programs.
Compile information needed for and help Chief Diversity Officer prepare monthly reports.
Assist with various diversity-related projects as assigned.
Schedule and facilitate D&I related calls and meetings, including assembling information and preparing materials.
Provide administrative support for the Chief Diversity Officer, including, but not limited to, assisting with travel arrangements and coordinating calendar.
Respond to inquiries related to GT’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs, including escalating more complex inquiries as needed.
Perform additional duties as required.
Skills & Competencies:
Must possess demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
Must be highly organized and able to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must have strong analytical skills, maintain a client service mindset, and sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information
Proficient with software including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience compiling, reviewing and reporting data for national survey submission preferred
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role (professional services experience a plus)
