Under the direction of the Senior Director of Admission and Financial Aid, the Admission Advisor is responsible for implementing recruitment initiatives in accordance with the mission of Emory Law. The Admission Advisor communicates directly with prospective, admitted, and matriculated students to recruit, enroll, and retain incoming JD students. The Admission Advisor also assists in planning, organizing, and implementing admission events and programs, both on and off campus, attends national law fairs and forums, and coordinates the recruitment travel schedule. This position requires the ability to travel 25-30% with overnight stays and significant travel from September-November.
The successful candidate will be a results-driven, dynamic team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact well with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff.The Admission Advisor will be predominately focused on the JD program, but will be cross-trained and expected to participate in the recruitment and admission effort for all programs within the Emory Law admission team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Counsel all incoming students, including prospective, admitted, waitlisted, transfer, and transient students
Organize and implement all facets of individual and group campus visits, including: planning, outreach, information sessions, campus tours, student panels, and class observations
Review and evaluate admission applications
Develop and maintain relationships with students throughout the admission cycle, including follow up on application documents, admissions decisions, registration, and orientation
Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of admission events, both on and off campus
Assist with marketing and communication campaigns
Coordinate all travel schedules and logistics
Recruit at LSAC forums, university fairs, panel discussions, and campus events
Assist with data maintenance – this includes learning new databases such as Aces2 and OPUS
Assist with post-deposit yielding efforts
Manage the Student Ambassador Program
Assist with social media and website maintenance
Assist with non-JD programs as needed
Preform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Excellent organizational, time management, problem solving, and communication skills
Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds?

Ability to work evenings and weekends with advance notice?
JD or Master's degree
Prior admission or higher education experience is preferred, particularly law school admission experience
