Ballard Spahr LLP seeks an experienced professional to manage, organize, coordinate and have overall responsibility for the practice support provided by the legal administrative assistants in the Philadelphia office. The manager will assist in establishing firm-wide best practices and ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, and team-oriented support to lawyers and clients. The selected individual will enjoy coaching, leading and developing a high performing team of individuals as well as effectively manage the recruitment and selection process for all legal administrative assistants.
In order to provide the support required in a changing legal environment, the Practice Support Manager will assess support needs and capabilities across legal departments and practices; implement efficiencies of teamwork while promoting familiarity with each lawyer’s practice needs; identify needed training for individuals and teams; develop and rollout training programs in collaboration with the firm’s training team; manage the annual performance evaluation program; and generally support each legal administrative assistant in the effort to deliver a world-class level of support.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of recent law firm supervisory experience and a high degree of proficiency in the firm’s computer applications and document management system including but not limited to MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Nuance, Filesite, WSRM, Elite, and InTapp, Workday, e-filing, and other practice area databases, as appropriate. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
