Attorney Professional Development, Professional Legal Management
The Professional Development Coordinator is a key member of the PD team and a valued resource for attorneys at the firm. The position supports Milbank’s cutting-edge associate development initiatives, as well as individual attorneys’ continuing education compliance and goals.
Reporting to the Manager of Professional Development, the primary responsibilities include:
Coordinate training programs for NY and other domestic offices, which includes: communicating with attorney presenters & outside consultants and coordinating conference rooms, catering, videoconferencing and other technical needs
Collaborate with PD team to plan new associate orientation and other multi-day programs, held in New York for attorneys from multiple Milbank offices
Plan social events held in connection with new associate orientation and other programs
Advise attorneys about their CLE compliance, research off-site CLE opportunities as requested by attorneys, assist attorneys with applications for time extensions
Coordinate program evaluations, assist at associate focus groups, compile and analyze feedback, and recommend improvements as needed
Support PD Team with implementing coaching and mentoring programs
Maintain CLE database, records and reports to ensure the firm and its attorneys comply with CLE rules and regulations
Manage relationships with external CLE vendors, coordinate webcasts and external program enrollment, and promote relevant programs
Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
A 4-year college degree strongly preferred
1 - 2 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Prior law firm experience encouraged
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of CE Manager CLE tracking system preferred
NY CLE experience preferred
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with attorneys
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to take initiative and juggle multiple priorities
Positive, flexible attitude; team player
Flexible and available for overtime as needed
