As a member of the Firmwide (FW) Legal Recruiting & Development Department, the Legal Recruiting and Development Specialist will work on various projects across all offices and various aspects of the Legal Recruiting and Development Team efforts.
This role will act as key business solutions resource, assisting with various special projects geared towards continuous improvement of functions and processes within the Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development Department. The ideal candidate will help solve complex problems with innovative thinking across a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Driving the implementation of new initiatives for the LRD department
Organizing and managing “project teams” of LRD team members assigned to various workstreams and initiatives
Preparing, analyzing, and presenting requirements, design mockups, project status/dashboards
Partnering with others to increase efficiencies or productivity, providing insights on best practices to other team members
Functioning as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions
Supporting offices and channels (Recruiting, Training, Professional Development, Alumni Engagement, and CareerLink) during any transition periods
Ad hoc support for cyclical/annual projects such as budget, team meetings, etc.
Ad hoc support for technology projects, overarching departmental “swim lanes”, org charts, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
Develops and implements new Legal Recruiting & Development business processes. Presents and implements recommendations for process improvements.
Develops and implements Legal Recruiting & Development standard operating procedures that will ensure data integrity.
Performs business analysis tasks to determine business needs, and translate them to conceptual and technical system requirements.
Acts as subject matter expert in various system processes and workflows.
Assists in the development and execution of communication plans related to the implementation of new systems, enhancements, and/or process changes.
Influences leadership and advocates among stakeholders to drive needed change.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in a law firm or professional service industry, with a background in consulting, business analysis, and process design. The candidate must also demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills, and the ability to work across all levels of management with various personality types; build relationships, be proactive, stay organized, and multi?task in a fast?paced, pressured environment. A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with superior verbal and written communication skills.

Project management certification, Six Sigma, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise regarding Legal Recruiting and Development activities
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience in a matrixed environment
Superior verbal and written communication skills
A proactive approach and the ability to work "hands-on" as required
Strong presentation skills combined with confidence and poise
A Bachelor’s degree combined with a minimum of five years of recruiting experience, preferably in a large law firm or other professional services environment
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and test against those requirements
Ability to switch from project lead to project assistant as roles of particular projects demand.
Functional knowledge across all Legal and Recruiting channels (Recruiting, Training, Professional Development, Alumni Engagement, and CareerLink)
High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. Experience with: PeopleSoft, ViDesktop, CLE Tracking Platforms (CE Manager), or Alumni Platforms preferred
Experience with presentation tools combined with ability to ‘tell the story’ and give visual representation to data and information through presentations, graphics & reports
Experience with Project Management and Issue Tracking software
Proficiency with Visio diagrams and decision trees
