Fenwick & West is seeking a Staff Talent Development Manager who is responsible for the overall design, development and execution of learning, and professional development initiatives focused on staff and leadership professionals. The individual will evaluate and provide reports regarding the effectiveness of the organization’s talent development initiatives and make recommendations accordingly. This role requires a highly organized, innovative, engaged leader with a strong client service orientation, diplomacy and strong management skills. This position can be based in our Mountain View or San Francisco office with the ability to travel to all offices.
Lead the development and delivery of management development programs; serve as an advisor on effective learning, training and development strategies to improve or add staff training curriculums.
Manage program facilitator relationships and individual coaching arrangements.
Collaborate with Training, HR business partners and administrative managers to ensure a common approach and consistency across the Learning & Development (L&D) and HR initiatives at the firm.
Keep up to date about educational resources available outside the firm.
Collaborate with Training to own the annual L&D plan and end?to?end design, development and delivery of learning initiatives and content for the assigned departments, including in?person events, and on?the?job experiences.
Build a comprehensive set of analytics to measure learning effectiveness and impact; continuously assess delivery process improvement opportunities.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Experience and knowledge of learning and development components, including core competencies, program design and feedback systems with a special emphasis on management development.
Strong interest in training and professional development and a demonstrated track record designing and implementing professional development programs.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work, motivate and develop team skills and dynamics.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills, proven experience at diplomacy and effective listening skills, and ability to inspire confidence of leadership and staff at all levels.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; collaborative approach to working with others and ability to build strong relationships across attorney populations and staff professionals.
Highly motivated, proactive self-starter that demonstrates ownership, commitment to the job, initiative and strong work ethic.
Ability to multi-task and deal with stringent deadlines.
Demonstrated good judgment and discretion as to confidential and sensitive matters.
Ability to deal effectively with change in fast-paced and changing environments.
Reporting to the Senior HR Director, the ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of comprehensive learning, training and/or professional development experience (or equivalent) in a complex/professional organization; management experience required. Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
