Working as part of the Global Partner Resources team, the Partner Resources Senior Manager (the “Senior Manager") has responsibility for i) supporting current partners as they transition out of the Partnership and providing ongoing support for Former/Retired Partners and ii) supporting all activities overseen by the Global Head of Partner Resources.
The Partner Resources team is tasked with facilitating partner onboarding through departure, and all changes and activities in between and after transition out of the Partnership (whether by resignation, separation or retirement). The Senior Manager will own several projects and processes related to departures and retirements, and they are expected to support these projects/processes through completion, make relevant decisions and collaborate with other team members and other functional areas as necessary.
Candidates for this role should have a background in legal or financial services, strong communication and drafting skills, strong administrative skills, and superior organizational skills. A significant portion of time will be spent on drafting legal agreements, working closely with the General Counsel’s office, the Global Records department, local office operations and Partner Resources colleagues in supporting partners as they exit the Partnership and the Firm. As part of this support, the Senior Manager will need to have a basic understanding of the Firm’s benefits, pensions and capital structure. The role would be well suited to an individual looking to enhance their written and verbal communications skills, human resources management and operations skills in a global environment.
This is a busy team with daily deliverables and requires a calm and approachable attitude as well as the confidence and maturity to deal with people at all levels within the White & Case Firm globally (partners, leaders, and Business Services) and externally (including retired/departed partners vendors). It is essential that a professional, helpful and friendly attitude is shown at all times and that the individual can handle partner requests and leader requests with a ‘white-glove service’ approach.
This is a role that assists global stakeholders with queries and communicates directly with partners, retired/former/departed partners and Firm leadership (i.e., Regional Section Heads, Regional COOs, Executive Committee, Business Services Leaders). The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate some flexibility with regard to working and responsiveness outside of core business hours for this reason. Working outside office hours on weekdays and weekends will be necessary at busy times.
Duties and Accountabilities
Managing all aspects of the Departure process and communication with departing partner, including explaining benefits and pension transition and return of capital
Supporting partners in evaluating retirement timing and understanding the financial implications and health and wellbeing benefits after retirement
Drafting and supporting the execution of legal Agreements with partners (Separation Agreements, Retirement Agreements/CCIP Letters, Conversion to Non-Partner Title Agreements, etc)
Managing the Partner Career Completion Program and CCIP (and ERISA Plan)
Maintaining the Retired Partner distribution list and sending communications to Retired Partners
Tracking of expiring Non-Partner Agreements and execution of any Amendments needed or offboarding procedures/support needed
Supporting all inquiries from partners preparing for departure and after departure, including coordination with other functions
Working closely with Partner Resources Benefits colleagues and Benefits team to support Retiree benefits programs and policies and administration
Supporting retired partner email account set up and shut down in collaboration with technology colleagues
Assist with the administration of special deals for retired/former partners in collaboration with Finance, Partner Compensation and other Partner Resources colleagues
Support the Partner Resources HR Operations team members with data request from leaders
Analyze and produce reports for the Executive Committee and other Firm Committees as needed
Bachelor's/College Degree in any field
Preferably 5+ years’ experience in Finance, Human Resources, Operations or Law Firm administration
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the Firm’s software, in particular, proficient in PeopleSoft, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Has an excellent understanding of concepts relating to finance and human resource information systems, compensation, and reports generation

Possess strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and can effectively interact at all levels of the organization and explain complex matters in simple and understandable terms
