Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking an Assistant Dean I for Career Services. Reporting to the Vice Dean for Academic & Student Services. The Assistant Dean I oversees the law school’s career services office, including overseeing the development of initiatives to expand and enhance placement opportunities for students and graduates, representing the law school in regional and national organizations, serving as liaison to judges, legal employers and other external constituencies. The duties include but not limited to; - Develops strategic marketing plan to promote effective job placement for students and graduates and to increase law school’s visibility in the national and regional legal marketplace. - Oversees development of comprehensive career services programming to meet the changing needs of diverse student body and alumni. - Exemplary administrative, analytical, and communication skills. - Excellent oral and written proficiency. - Outstanding interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis on ability to establish and maintain positive relations with legal employers and judges, as well as with alumni, faculty, subordinates, peers, students, applicants, and other members of the public. - Outstanding managerial and organizational abilities. - Strong computer skills, including ability to compile and analyze statistical data and reports. - Extensive knowledge of the legal profession.
Additional Salary Information: Range 89,051.00 through $136,381.00
