Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP is seeking a dynamic Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator/Specialist to join our D&I Team and assist with the implementation of the Firm’s diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategic goals. The Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator/Specialist will report to our Head of Diversity & Inclusion, and will work closely with our D&I team.
Supporting the Diversity Committee and the Women’s Initiative Steering Committee;
Supporting internal and external diversity-related programming, including Women’s Initiative and affinity group programming;
Coordinating diversity-related programming, including programming that satisfies the Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE requirement, heritage month programming and training related to unconscious bias;
Overseeing the Firm’s D&I related mentoring initiatives;
Generating ideas and content to communicate and promote D&I initiatives both internally and externally, including the regular updating of the D&I section on the Firm’s website;
Completing diversity-related RFPs and benchmarking surveys requested by clients;
Assisting with the preparation of partners for diversity-related speaking engagements;
Coordinating the Firm’s sponsorship of, and lawyers’ participation in, diversity-related programs of professional organizations;
Building positive relationships with law schools and student groups, including outreach to student affinity groups;
Assisting with recruitment efforts as they relate to diverse students;
Assisting in analyzing internal metrics related to D&I strategy;
Assisting with administering Cvent as it relates to diversity-related internal programming;
Serving as the primary contact for a cohort of summer associates;
Attending diversity-related events;
Keeping abreast of developments as they relate to D&I efforts in the legal profession; and
Performing other duties as assigned, including those with respect to Firm efforts focused on pro bono, community service and wellness initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of D&I or applicable experience in a service industry, title is dependent upon substantive work experience;
Ability to work independently with attorneys and administration at all levels;
Ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive information discreetly;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Strong analytical skills to understand and report statistical data;
Good organizational skills and exceptional judgment;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Ability to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple projects on tight deadlines; and
Ability to work effectively and maintain relationships with a wide range of professionals.
