Principal job accountable for the collection, analysis, and formal reporting to internal and external law school data end-users of information related to admissions, acceptance, matriculation, bar passage, and post-law school employment.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
Is accountable for the identification of meaningful and reportable data in both current and forecasted environments that are applicable to the operation and success of ABA-accredited law schools.
Routinely interfaces with law school deans and administrators on the collection of primary data and/or responding to inquiries regarding the ultimate reports and findings.
Collects large amounts of often sensitive data related to law student admissions, acceptance, matriculation, bar passage and post-law school employment and formalizes reports that are provided to the public, law schools, and the media.
Creates and administers audit and data collection materials from public source and individual law schools to ensure the ability to optimally report on areas of interest and compliance for law schools.
Creates supporting materials and analyses which support the proceedings from which suspension, elevated reviews, and/or loss of law school accreditation may be generated.
Supports all requisite reporting and interface requirement with the U.S. Department of Education.
Often prepares special analyses and reports to assist in responding to media, government, and/or general public inquiries.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
Possession of an Advanced degree from an accredited college of university with a concentration in analytical sciences, statistics, legal studies, and/or business administration.
At least three years’ experience developing, administering, and analyzing custom surveys which required the use of advanced statistical and analytical software and analytical tools.
At least three years’ experience synthesizing complex and often conflicting data elements into meaningful and actionable reports for use in academic, business, and/or scholarly works.
At least three years’ experience in interviewing senior law school and/or business officials, team members, and, if appropriate, alumni to collect and report on data used to accurately project current and forecasted business states.
Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience
Possession of a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
Previous experience as the senior-most position within an ABA-accredited law school career services/placement center.
