Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting a full-time Professional Development Intern for a 6 month assignment. This is a virtual position, but preferred locations include Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, New York, or Washington, DC. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate who is interested in starting a career in Professional Development.
The Professional Development Intern will work under the general direction of the Professional Development Director and Professional Development department leadership to support the annual review process for US associates and assist with learning and development programs. The Professional Development Intern will work to (1) leverage innovative instructional design methods to coordinate and roll-out impactful learning and development programs for Dentons lawyers and professionals, and (2) support the performance management process by playing a role in the annual review processes for associates, staff and hourly associates and professionals.
Providing administrative support for the annual review process, under the direction of the PD Director and Manager of Performance Management and Advancement
Transcribing detailed notes, creating e-binders, and organizing materials in conjunction with the annual review process
Drafting and finalizing evaluation summaries for associates
Utilizing lean methodology for product/program development
Brainstorming learning solutions with the PD team to address lawyers’ needs
Customizing the Learning Management System (LMS) to be effective for both lawyers and the PD team
Supporting practice-specific learning paths
Assisting with the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of the LMS, including technical issue-spotting and trouble-shooting
Working with the CLE Administrator to support CLE-eligible training and projects
Maintaining tools and strategies to support effective training protocols, including checklists, databases, and other reporting functions
Preparing reports related to programming and the review process
Applying principles of instructional design to signature training events, under the direction of the PD Director and Manager of Learning & Development
Other duties, as needed or assigned

Experience and Qualifications:
An ability to identify and analyze learning needs of professional employees
An ability to take ownership and show initiative, creativity and resourcefulness
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented, with an ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree is a plus
Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required
Experience in a professional services setting, particularly the legal industry, is preferred
Experience with performance management and organizational development is a plus
Experience in any of the following is a plus: database management, project management software, CLE tracking, LMS, viDesktop, Micron database, Poll Anywhere, Survey Monkey, and Zoom
Telecommuting is allowed.
