EVERYTOWN LAW CALL FOR DEFERRAL YEAR LITIGATION FELLOW
Everytown for Gun Safety’s Litigation Team — Everytown Law — seeks a talented and creative attorney for a 1-year Litigation Fellowship based in New York City (primarily remote during COVID-19). This is a unique opportunity for a law firm associate taking a deferral year to join Everytown Law in working on gun violence prevention impact litigation. We are the largest team of litigators in the country dedicated to advocating in the courts for gun violence prevention — one of the most pressing issues of our time.
Everytown Law engages in two primary areas of law:
(1) affirmative litigation to take on dangerous gun laws, enforce gun violence prevention laws and challenge the gun industry’s dangerous business practices and
(2) defending common-sense, life-saving gun laws against Second Amendment and related constitutional challenges.
Our team also fosters independent and rigorous Second Amendment scholarship and historical research. You can learn about some of our cases and scholarship at https://everytownlaw.org/.
SCOPE OF WORK
Everytown Law’s work involves social justice, racial justice, and otherwise advocating on behalf of marginalized communities, those most affected by gun violence, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals seeking to advance gun safety in their communities. Your work as a Fellow may involve federal and state court litigation practice (legal research and analysis, strategy development, complaint drafting and trial court, appellate, and amicus brief writing), as well as direct client representation.

About Everytown for Gun Safety
Everytown is a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities. Gun violence touches every town in America. For too long, change has been thwarted by the Washington gun lobby and by leaders who refuse to take common-sense steps that will save lives.
But something is changing. More than 4 million mayors, moms, cops, teachers, survivors, gun owners, and everyday Americans have come together to make their own communities safer. Together, we are fighting for the changes that we know will save lives. Everytown starts with you, and it starts in your town.
