Williams Mullen is currently seeking an experienced Recruiting & Professional Development, Lead Coordinator in our Talent Management group to join our Richmond, Virginia office. The Lead Coordinator will partner with the Director of Talent Management and the Manager of Professional Development and collaborate with the Talent Management Coordinator, to execute the full life cycle of recruitment and onboarding process for attorneys and law students. In addition, the Lead Coordinator will partner with the Director and Manager to manage several firmwide committees and initiatives, including the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and/or the Women's Initiative, the Associate's Advisory Committee, and the Student Recruiting Committees.
Collaborate with Director of Talent Management to strategically plan and implement recruiting, screening and hiring of attorney candidates.
Partner with both Director of Talent Management and Manager of Professional Development with onboarding of new attorney hires.
Collaborate with the Director to implement strategies and manage multiple firmwide and regional committees and/or initiatives, including the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
Participate in the department’s team planning and administering annual student recruiting activities and Summer Associate Programs.
Support the department’s role in data and information reporting, both internally and externally.
Provide support for planning and implementing attorney and paralegal professional development programs.
Participate in relevant industry associations for recruitment and professional development (e.g., NALP, SHRM).
Establish a partnership among Marketing, Administration and Talent Management personnel to promote the flow of information, coordination of tasks and implementation of policies and procedures.
Collaborate with entire team to ensure deadlines are met and consistent service is provided, and to continuously improve the Firm Talent Management and Talent Development processes and tools.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in recruiting attorneys, accountants, or other licensed professionals
Experience working with diversity, equity and/or inclusion initiatives in the workplace
Proficiency in a recruiting database or HRIS (e.g., Lawcruit, viDesktop/viRecruit, Symplicity, ADP)
Working knowledge of the requirements for continuing legal education or other education for professional licenses
Working exposure to process improvements or inefficiency correction.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
5+ years of experience in legal recruiting or professional development, in related services with attorneys or other licensed professionals, or in a related field such as law school or accounting career services
2+ years of experience with full-cycle recruitment efforts, directly working with hiring managers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to administer projects from start to finish with little supervision
Willing to assert imitative and independent judgment to accomplish expected results
Work well under pressure both autonomously and as part of a team
Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
