Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a motivated Talent Development Assistant to join the Talent Development Department in the Chicago office. The Talent Development Assistant will assist in the coordination of attorney training and development initiatives and support overall professional development, training, diversity, and recruiting goals of the Firm as directed by the Chief Talent Officer, Manager of Professional Development and Diversity, and Legal Recruiting Manager.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Talent Development Assistant will include:
Assist with the coordination of internal and external programs by managing meeting and program logistics including invitations, scheduling, booking and coordinating meeting room set-up and trouble shooting
Assist with the planning and execution of attorney professional development, mentoring, and training programming
Assist with attorney evaluation processes and related filing
Help to manage intake of applications by responding to staff and legal candidates in firm recruiting software
Coordinate and manage the calendar of the Chief Talent Officer and the Talent Development Department
Process expenses and reimbursements, including maintenance of the department corporate credit card accounts
Assist with organization, planning and execution of firm events and morale programs under the Talent Development umbrella
Research and coordinate organization of departmental meetings and team building events
Perform all other duties as assigned, including providing back-up coverage for other Talent Development positions when needed
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or an Associate’s degree plus additional Talent Development, Professional Development, Recruiting, or Diversity experience. The ideal candidate will have one (1) to two (2) years of prior experience in a professional environment; preference given to those with prior law firm experience.
Ability to exercise good judgment and inspire confidence in supervisors, candidates and law firm personnel
Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet shifting deadlines
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to execute projects with a high level of efficiency and accuracy
Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and desire to learn
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; enjoys collaborating and working in team settings
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation
Dedication to a high level of client service and responsiveness
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Experience with ViDesktop or other similar Training/Development software system preferred
Proficient with MS Office suite
