Attorney Professional Development, Professional Legal Management
Clark Hill PLC is seeking a Professional Development Manager to support the professional development programs for the Firm. The position reports to the Director of Professional Development and is part of the firmwide Human Resources department. The position can be located in either our Chicago, Collin County or Dallas office.
Collaborate with Director of Professional Development to assess needs, create and implement training programs that revolve around our Core Competency Model.
Communicate program plans, goals and outcomes. Define and develop metrics and evaluation of training programs.
Collaborate with Business Units Directors and Leaders to determine training priorities for each group.
Identify and manage external training vendors and consultants; review content and materials to ensure training programs align with Firm culture and initiatives.
Manage mentoring programs; facilitate mentor-mentee pairings, recommend and implement new mentor programs, program enhancements, discussion topics and training.
Manage the bi-annual evaluation and feedback processes for non-member attorneys, paralegals and other professionals.
Support the Firm’s year-end compensation process for non-member attorneys, paralegals and other professionals.
Recommend and implement training programs for attorneys based on needs surfaced in connection with the evaluation and feedback process and career development discussions.
Collaborate with the Firm’s DEI team to identify opportunities for DEI training programs.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices as they relate to legal talent training and development.
Assist with other special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in professional development or training, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred. Experience with performance management and HRIS systems is desirable.
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to ensure that work product is clean and correct.
Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environment, using good judgement.
Proactive and able to work independently without constant supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of discretion.
Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
