We are seeking an Attorney Recruiting and Development Coordinator. This position may be filled in our Chicago, Baltimore, Washington DC, or Philadelphia office. A hybrid remote arrangement is negotiable. This role will involve coordinating aspects of attorney, law student, and patent agent acquisition and attorney development programs. Assist with the planning and implementation of summer associate program, including assisting in planning and attending of events; handling expense reimbursements and vendor invoices; assist in coordinating of work assignments and evaluations; assist in the preparation of information for Hiring Committee; assist in relationship building of law school career services representatives, and data tracking and reporting for on-campus recruiting results.
Assist in coordinating all aspects of fall on-campus interview and call-back interview processes, including interview scheduling and student communication.
Assist in all aspects of lateral recruiting, including drafting and posting job descriptions; coordinating interviews; collecting interview feedback; data tracking and reporting on lateral searches; helping to build and maintain relationships with external search firms, and assisting with coordination of candidate onboarding.
Support diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives by coordinating participation in diversity pipeline programs.
Maintain and update legal recruiting database (viRecruit) and all candidate files.
Maintain and update website content.
Assist in updating and distributing recruiting materials, including forms and manuals for attorneys and law students.
Assist in candidate research, including the use of social media resources.
Conduct research on law school and law firm recruiting policies; stay abreast of industry-related recruiting news and provide data as requested by department leadership.
Prepare department correspondence to potential candidates and incoming attorneys and students.
Manage program scheduling, registration, and logistics including conference facilities, food service, and technology. Assemble, produce and distribute training materials. Assist in drafting and distribution of program communications. Assist in promoting career development activities.
Assist Career Development team with data collection and use of viEval and other systems.
Provide administrative support for firmwide, department, and practice-specific training including handling room scheduling, ordering food, creating name tags and invitations, coordinating event RSVPs, and other administrative duties as needed.
Maintain course materials and all video files for in-house programs.
Provide administrative support for the Attorney Evaluation process, orientation, and integration.
Maintain department charts as needed.
Assist with data compilation for external surveys, specifically NALP surveys and client diversity and inclusion surveys.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Other Job-Related Competencies:
At least 2 years of experience in a legal environment.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to maintain confidential aspects of the position.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and work requirements as they evolve.
Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Comfort working across offices and with colleagues in a remote environment.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Advanced proficiency in the use of Zoom and Teams.
Advanced proficiency with viRecruit and viEval preferred.
Knowledge of Symplicity for law student resume parsing preferred.
Ability to work overtime when necessary.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of two years human resources, attorney recruiting and/or career development experience preferably in a law firm.
