The Role
Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion (CR&I) have been identified as one of the firm's key priorities. The firm's focus is on the need to ensure diversity throughout the firm, from entry level to partnership. There is an expectation from our people and our clients to adopt a market leading approach.
‘Responsibility Matters’ is the term we use for our CR&I program and it covers all aspects of diversity and inclusion, community and charitable activity, pro bono work and some aspects of our environmental responsibilities. The individual taking on this role will work across all these areas.
The role is part of the local North America HR team, but also works closely with the Global CR&I team who are based in the London office and in other regions. The role reports to the Global Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion Manager as well as locally to the Senior HR Manager, North America.
The overall purpose of the role will be to support and manage regional projects and activity in support of our CR&I strategy and to manage some day-to-day activities of the CR&I and NA HR team.
This position can be located in Los Angeles, Orange County, Chicago, or Kansas City.
Key Responsibilities
- Project management of our CSR program: including building and maintaining a strong relationship with our external partner, organization of NA fund-raising and volunteering activities, increasing employee engagement and seeking ways to collaborate with clients
- Coordination of regional volunteering and engagement opportunities – creating engaging communications, liaising with a network of contacts across offices and working with external partners
- Work collaboratively with the NA HR team, BD and Marketing to ensure the information they have access to is relevant and timely, and that they are promoting CR&I at every opportunity
- Inputting to data collection, impact measurement and reporting processes
- Manage submission for Mansfield Rule each year (US) as well as any similar programs across the region
- Responsible for updating and maintaining CR&I content on Clyde Connected (our intranet) and external websites
- Management and delivery of events associated with our program
- Supporting our internal Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), ensuring alignment to the CR&I strategy
- Design and deliver the health and wellbeing program
- Relationship management of some external partnerships and networks (e.g., legal clinics to ensure maximum benefit to Clyde & Co and our partner organizations)
- Remain up to date with CR&I issues, trends and developments globally
- Represent the firm at external forums and events
- Support and cover colleagues’ workloads as and when required
Experience and Skills Required
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar role of developing and implementing CR&I projects – preferably ideally within a professional services firm
- Tenacious – must be a self-starter with a focus on execution and delivery
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and drive others to achieve outcomes
- First class analytical, prioritization and organizational skills
- Strong team working ethic
- Prepared to travel to other offices, if requested
- Span of capability from strategic to hands-on operational
