JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office of Admissions in Penn State Law in University Park is seeking an Assistant Dean for Admissions to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admissions for the J.D. program. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for:

Provide day to day leadership and supervision for recruitment, yield, communications, diversity programming and outreach, and events processes

Oversight of admissions recruitment staff and student workers including hiring, evaluation, and training
-
Implementation of communication plans to prospective and admitted students including advertising, email and text campaigns, social media, and web presence

Implementation and promotion of on and off campus recruitment events including staff assignments, registrations, development of recruitment materials, and scheduling of private visits

Represent Penn State Law at some events
-
Oversight, promotion, and execution of online programming for prospective and admitted students
-
Provide timely and regular analysis of recruitment efforts to support strategic plans
-
Management of student ambassador volunteers

Review of applications and recommendations on decisions and scholarships

Oversee, promote, and support programs and outreach to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in the admissions process

Lead the planning, execution, and follow up of the Explore Law summer program
-
Meet with prospective and admitted students visiting campus and oversee coordination of visits
-
Make recommendations for changes to policies or procedures as needed

Assist in development of office strategic plans

Other responsibilities as assigned
The successful candidate should anticipate periods of travel, particularly in the fall. This is position is not eligible for remote work, however, there may be flexibility for occasional remote work by agreement with supervisor.

Other essential skills include planning, attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, management, and problem solving. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are a must. Charisma, authenticity, and the ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and personalities is key. Education and Experience:
10 years of professional experience including 5+ years of admissions experience, particularly in professional graduate or law school, is required. Experience as a manager is necessary. Knowledge of ACES2/Unite, Slate, Zoom, Remo, Teams, social media platforms, and other collaborative software is preferred. A Master's degree or higher is preferred; J.D. strongly preferred.
Additional Information:
This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
Desired start is July/August 2022.
