The Office of Career and Professional Development at the University of Wisconsin Law School serves JD students and alumni in all stages of their career development. This position will counsel students, lead diversity initiatives, and work with employers seeking to recruit law students.
Position responsibilities include:
Provide career counseling and advice to J.D. students and alumni on subjects including development of self-assessment and career planning strategies; review and revision of resumes, cover letters and other application material; instruction regarding interview preparation and mock interviewing; and guidance in the creation and expansion of a student's personal network.
Develop and execute career and professional development diversity initiatives, including but not limited to: planning networking events with students and employers; assisting employers with initiatives; advising employers regarding best practices; publicizing diversity fellowships and opportunities to students; working with student groups to provide relevant programming; and serving as the OCPD liaison to diversity job fairs, student organizations, and other programs.
Assist in employer outreach initiatives, including serving as liaison to national recruiting programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for the Office of Career & Professional Development.

JD Required. Multiple years relevant post-JD experience preferred. Applicants will preferably have experience working with diverse groups and/or diverse students; contributing to a positive, inclusive and diverse environment.
