The Professional Development Manager will create, manage, train and support the professional development plans for the Firm.
Reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Interacts daily with attorneys, legal assistants, support staff, clients, vendors, and other members of Firm management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Professional Development Manager is responsible for the following: Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the Firm’s professional development strategy particularly as it relates to current and future training needs, retention, and succession planning.
Collaborates and maintains relationships with practice group leaders and attorneys.
Provide support and guidance to management, and other professional staff to identify career paths and skills needed to enhance the employee’s career.
Create individualized career paths based on attorneys’ goals and expertise.
Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
Research and implement a Learning Management System.
Develops training and development programs and objectives.
Administers spending against the departmental budget.
Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
Trains and coaches’ managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
Modifies programs as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
