GENERAL PURPOSE The Chicago and Madison offices of Perkins Coie LLP are seeking a dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic leader to manage the day-to-day office functions, including supervision of business professionals, office business professional recruitment, human resource administration, operations, and facilities administration. The Office Business Director, under the direction of the Office Managing Partners, will report to the Regional Business Director and will participate in strategic planning relative to the office. The position will be based in the Chicago office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. • Proven leadership skills, including people and process management; • Impeccable organizational, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills; • Exceptional ability to express self both orally and in writing; • Experience with employee management and thorough knowledge of Human Resources processes, procedures, and applicable laws; • Experience with recruiting staff personnel; • Thorough knowledge of accounting methods and procedures as it relates to office operations; • Experience with maintaining and managing budgets; • Proficient in Microsoft Office; • Proven ability to analyze complex situations and recommend and implement solutions in various circumstances; and • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of firm personnel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE This position requires a minimum of five years of supervisory or office management experience in a mid-sized or larger office and a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Experience in a law firm environment is strongly preferred.
