General Summary: Support attorneys in the preparation and prosecution of litigation cases. Assist with pleadings, discovery, motions and trial practice. Work cohesively with team members and attorneys to provide efficient support of administrative tasks and superior client service.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain case profiles, judicial profiles, court forms, litigation support services, and Federal, State, and local rules.
Case management, including organizing all documents and files.
Review and route incoming communication, e.g., faxes, emails and client correspondence, following up on deadlines as appropriate.
Assist case attorneys in preparation of court documents and service of discovery.
Coordinate and review final court documents prior to filing.
Assist attorneys with document production.
Schedule depositions with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reporters.
Preparation and submission of motion and trial exhibits.
Create pleading/discovery/trial binders.
Attend trials, assisting in all aspects and details, including hotel arrangements, travel, team schedules, etc.
Review all incoming court papers and forward same to Litigation Calendaring Department for input into calendaring software programs. Review all dates calendared for accuracy.
Review weekly calendar draft making any necessary additions, changes or deletions prior to stated deadlines.
Provide administrative assistance with expense summaries and client bills.
Provide coverage for the Litigation Department as requested. Conduct and participate in training as necessary.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree along with a paralegal certificate.
Knowledge of federal e-filings, trial procedures and court rules preferred.
Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working with iManage or similar document management system, Adobe Acrobat, and Relativity preferred.
Effective writing skills; excellent proofreading, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Able to work with minimal supervision exercising good judgment and decision making.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Able to meet the Firm's billable hour requirement or value added equivalent.
Must be efficient, accurate, flexible, timely and have excellent attention to detail.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Team player and a positive attitude is a must.
Must meet minimum testing requirements.
Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hybrid/Remote Options Available. This position depends upon the ability of the employee to work closely with attorneys and staff members during regularly scheduled hours. This position requires the ability to work overtime, which often cannot be predicted in advance.
