The Opportunity
We are seeking an Attorney Development Coordinator to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office (hybrid). The Attorney Development Coordinator provides support to the overall attorney development function by coordinating attorney personnel, training and associate engagement efforts in the Washington, DC office.
Coordinates attorney new hire process, including Workday actions, personnel files preparations, planning orientation schedules and conducting onboarding trainings.
Coordinates transfer and departure process, including Workday actions, communications, and preparations for departures, including exit interview reports.
Coordinates attorney leaves of absence, including DC Paid Family Leave and related attorney communications.
Coordinates bar admissions, annual bar renewals, and related reporting.
Responds to attorney employment verification requests.
Plans and implements attorney training and professional development programs and coordinates with New York Office Attorney Development and Attorney Training teams as needed.
Prepares and maintains continuing legal education (CLE) applications and files.
Coordinates attorney engagement, integration, and retention efforts.
Coordinates associate mentor program, including communications, event planning, and budget tracking.
Implements professional development programs, as well as attorney retention and engagement initiatives, to meet the firm and DC office objectives and foster community.
Provides coordination and support for attorney evaluations, including compiling data in preparation for review meetings and ensuring timely completion of evaluations and reviews.
Provides support to office Diversity, Equity and Inclusion projects and events, as directed by the Attorney Recruiting & Development Sr. Manager and Attorney Development Manager.
Serves as a resource to attorneys in the DC office.
Coordinates and supports overall department needs with special projects.
Collaborates with Attorney Recruiting team on overlapping projects and priorities, and as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends and techniques.
Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Workday, Webex) with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
Ability to use discretion, exercise good judgment and handle sensitive/confidential matters.
Demonstrates the flexibility to occasionally travel and adjust hours to meet operating needs (including evenings and weekends, as needed).
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years of development and/or program coordination experience in a professional services environment.
