We are seeking a Manager of Law Student Recruitment. This position may be filled in our Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia, or Washington, DC offices. This is a hybrid position. This role will involve the management of all student-related recruiting, the Firm’s annual summer associate program, and all aspects of campus involvement. This position reports to the Director of Attorney Recruiting and is responsible for managing Coordinator level support.
Essential Functions of the Role:
Work with Director of Attorney Recruiting, Hiring Partner, and departmental leadership on short and long-term hiring strategies to support summer associate recruitment efforts.
Manage campus recruitment efforts including law school outreach and creating and maintaining relationships with law schools career services offices, law alumni, and other stakeholders.
Oversee fall student recruiting process, including follow-up efforts and events. Travel to on-campus events as needed.
Prepare and present hiring outcome reports and analyses for the Hiring Committee and firm leadership.
Manage and maintain student group partnerships, and plan and execute networking events.
Develop and implement new strategies and programs to attract and identify student candidates.
Oversee hiring for 1L pipeline programs.
Manage all aspects of summer associate program, including assignments, evaluations, feedback, and training.
Plan and execute all social activities for the summer program. Attend summer associate events and other firm-sponsored recruiting events.
Conduct annual interview training for all attorneys involved with student recruiting.
Work with marketing department to create branding and marketing for summer program and firm in connection with on-campus recruitment and ongoing recruiting efforts.
Partner on execution of the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic plan through coordination with the DEI Manager and DEI Committee.
Partner with the firm’s Pro Bono Manager on opportunities for student involvement.
Prepare summer associate and fall recruiting annual budget and review, monitor, and approve related expenses throughout the year.
Collaborate with Lateral Associate Recruiting team and Professional Development team to enhance knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration and support.
Partner with Professional Development team on integration of new joiners who were former summer associates.
Keep Recruiting and Professional Development teams updated on changes surrounding the Next Gen bar exam, implications of the UBE and the impact in relevant jurisdictions.
Keep current on trends in recruiting through professional development seminars/conferences and peer networking.
Develop and manage technology-related recruiting resources to enhance the success of student recruiting (i.e. due diligence, attorney/recruiting statistics, market data, trends, lateral movement, former prospects, alumni, recruiting website, etc.).
Responsible for other special projects and related duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Other Job-Related Competencies:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. JD degree or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative experience, one of which was in a law firm or similar setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Understanding of the wide-ranging areas of law practiced by a full-service law firm.
