Busy General Practice Firm in Essex County/ Newark is actively seeking an Immigration & Civil Litigation/Criminal Attorney to join our growing law practice. Experience with Civil Litigation/Criminal law is preferred and a plus. Perfect candidate will have a hybrid role.

Job Type: Full-time 8 am to 5 pm. Weekends may be required. References will be checked if you are considered for the position.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Admission to New Jersey Bar in good standing with 10+ years of experience in immigration and civil litigation/criminal defense in the United States. 
• Ability to handle a high caseload
• Detail oriented, organized, and quick
• Spanish and/or Portuguese not required but preferred
• Experience with handling application and briefs submissions to EOIR/USCIS/NVC offices as well as attending Immigration master and individual hearings, asylum interview appointments, and family petition/adjustment of status interviews, etc. (preferred).
• Experience with Landlord/Tenant, Personal Injury, Workmen's Compensation, Bankruptcy, Family Law (divorce, child support, custody, TRO, etc.) and other areas of law
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Ability to work cases either independently or as part of a team, to develop case strategies
• MUST have a driver's license and be computer literate.

Attorneys Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide Representation at Removal Proceedings (EOIR) and USCIS Offices
• Provide Representation at Civil/ Criminal Hearings and Mediations
• Conduct interviews, depositions, and trials
• Drafting and submitting motions, complaints, answers, forms and briefs in addition to other court/client correspondence
• Conducting complex legal research and case specific analysis
• Client intake
