This position can be based in any of the following U.S. offices: Century City, Downtown Los Angeles, Del Mar, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, New York, or Washington DC. There is only one opening.
The Professional Development Coordinator will work with members of the Talent Management and Human Resources team to support and assist all facets of attorney professional development. This is a new role within the department and is being added due to the increased responsibilities relating to projects including the attorney evaluation processes, legal skills benchmarks and training, and training for the business services team. This position reports directly to the Director of Professional Development.
Primary Responsibilities and Expectations Responsibilities:
Work closely with Director of Professional Development and Chief D&I Officer to support goals of team and firm.
Assist in the coordination of the attorney annual evaluation process and mid-year evaluation process.
Connect, track and report on various attorney functions such as the mentor program, attrition statistics and attorney headcount.
Coordinate attorney and business services training programs, academies, and workshops.
Process and track expense reports and invoices.
Handle scheduling, drafting invitations and other communications, attendance tracking, preparing materials, coordinating with conference services, catering, technology, etc.
Assist with the firm’s e-learning related initiatives including: PLI, Internal Resources, etc.
Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Functions of Job:
Proactively support all aspects of the Professional Development team.
Assist in the development, planning and implementation of professional development processes including the evaluation process, the mentoring program, and training sessions.
Maintain personnel data and ensure confidentiality.
Work collaboratively across the firm with other members of the Talent Management Team, Firm Administrative Departments, and Practice Group Leaders.
Other responsibilities as assigned to support professional development functions.
Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications:
2+ years of professional development experience.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments while working under pressure with tight deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion.
Team player with excellent internal client service skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Law firm experience is preferred. Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree Computer/Software Knowledge Required: Strong Microsoft Office Applications including Teams Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Power BI, viDesktop and CE Manager is a plus.
Work Environment
The current Firm policy is hybrid–working in the office a minimum of 3 days per week and working from home the rest of the week (subject to change).
Overtime will be required on occasion as the workload requires.
Travel Requirements Less than 10%. Travel to academies and conferences when required.
