Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for an experienced and results-driven recruiting professional to be the Associate Recruiting Manager resident in our Washington, D.C. or Philadelphia office.
In this role, you will be part of a collaborative, dedicated and dynamic team of recruiters located in offices across the U.S. who are focused on the day-to-day management of recruiting law students for our summer associate programs and entry-level classes in Philadelphia and Washington, as well as lateral associates for a designated practice group.
We look to our Recruiting Managers to play an integral role in implementing firm strategies for sourcing, attracting, and hiring highly skilled associates and law students, as well as drive other process enhancements and firmwide projects in the Talent space.
This position will report to the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting and partner closely with a variety of operations professionals and firm leaders across offices who share a passion for doing excellent work in the best interest of our clients. These include our National Hiring Committee, Practice Group Leaders, Practice Management team, Client Development and Marketing team, and various others.
Candidates should be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, spearheading initiatives that attract and retain the best and brightest. Outstanding communication skills, a knack for building strong relationships and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are required.
What you would do:
Actively source and recruit for legal and consulting talent, ensuring a consistently strong pipeline of qualified candidates with a focus on diverse talent.
Meet regularly with Senior Director of Lawyer and Consultant Recruiting, Hiring Partner and Practice Group Management team members to keep abreast of short-term and long-term associate hiring needs and strategies.
Conduct initial assessment of lateral associate, consultant, and law student candidates and present top candidates to Hiring Partner and/or Practice Group Leaders.
Manage relationships with external search firms to identify potential lateral candidates.
Oversee the scheduling of interviews and travel arrangements. Identify appropriate lawyers to interview candidates and follow-up to ensure everything goes smoothly for the candidate.
Gather and distribute interview materials; collect and consolidate feedback.
Manage the diligence process, including background investigations, conflicts of interest, financial analysis, online searches, etc.
Manage the full life-cycle process for recruiting, interviewing, selecting and extending offers to law students to join the firm’s summer program and to summer associates to join the firm as associates after graduation.
Plan and manage summer associate program, including overseeing work assignments and evaluation processes.
Develop and execute law student outreach programs for designated law schools; serve as firm liaison with law school career services offices.
Maintain recruitment ATS and all recruitment and candidate files.
Maintain expenses and monitor budget.
Oversee pre-arrival and onboarding details for new hires, including, but not limited to, bar examination and review course fees, stipend and advance payments, orientation programs and new hire paperwork.
Stay current on firmwide policies and procedures to ensure a consistent implementation and keep apprised of market trends for legal recruiting.
Supervise Associate Recruiting Coordinator daily, with a focus on training and opportunities for skills development and professional growth.
Prepare and analyze data regarding recruiting success, hiring statistics, risk assessments and other issues.

The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position is $122,500 – $140,000.
Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is an exempt role and the initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.

What is required:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of eight years of experience, at least four years of experience working in a recruiting capacity with increased responsibility within a law firm or similarly situated professional services company strongly preferred
Proficiency in recruiting attorneys and working with lawyer recruiting databases preferred
High proficiency in MS Office applications and Workday or other HRIS/applicant data tracking systems
Ability to travel to any of the firm’s U.S. office locations and to law schools as needed
