The Recruiting Manager is primarily responsible for managing the entry level and lateral recruiting efforts for the Firm’s Washington DC and New York offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the lateral associate hiring process, including developing and maintaining relationships with search firms, scheduling interviews and handling communication and coordination with Firm and Practice leadership.
Plan and manage all aspects of the Washington, DC and New York summer associate programs.
Work closely with Hiring Partners to execute recruiting strategy and candidate outreach efforts.
Facilitate OCI process for designated offices, including school selection, callback scheduling and the offer process.
Organize and attend law school recruiting events and work with Career Services Offices to identify areas for firm involvement.
Develop and implement strategies to brand and market the Firm to law schools and guide campus outreach initiatives with the Recruiting team to ensure a consistent approach across the firm.
Establish and maintain systems (including, but not limited to, an applicant tracking system) to ensure accurate data tracking and analysis.
Continuously improve upon processes and information sharing systems within the Recruiting Department.
Develop and monitor the annual budget for summer associate and lateral recruiting activities.
Focus on efforts to increase the Firm’s presence on social media and the website.
Cultivate and maintain working relationships with legal search firms, law schools and industry organizations (including WALRAA and NALP) to stay abreast of and share best practices and market trends.
Work closely with the Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Outreach and the Diversity Committee to drive efforts to actively recruit diverse candidates at the firm.
Interact with all levels of Firm leadership including Hiring Partners, Office Leaders, and Section heads as part of recruiting process.
Handle other responsibilities as needed by the Director of Recruiting and Chief Talent Officer.
Education and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of five years of experience in a law firm or other professional services environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
Creative, flexible, and open to innovative ideas and evolving responsibilities.
Outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate with professionals and attorneys across the firm as well as with external clients.
Able to exercise sound judgement and discretion in all circumstances.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and applicant tracking software (ViRecruit preferred).
