ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assistant County Attorney representing the State of Iowa and Jasper County in the professional, aggressive and ethical handling of assigned cases, investigations and criminal matters filed in Jasper County, Iowa.  Perform with excellence all attorney functions in assigned cases, including all phases of trials, hearings, depositions, investigatory evidence-gathering procedures, and other proceedings; make appropriate charging and other decisions; exercise good judgment in the disposition of cases consistent with justice, public safety, the well-being of victims and applicable law; prepare and file court documents and pleadings; perform legal research; competently evaluate evidence; interview witnesses and evaluate witness demeanor and credibilit
