Venable LLP is seeking a dynamic professional for an exciting opportunity in our Washington, DC headquarters. The Legal Personnel Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals while also assisting with daily functioning of the Firm's Legal Personnel Department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for...
- Providing and coordinating necessary paperwork and notifications for arrivals, departures, leaves and other personnel changes for the firm's lawyers and legal professionals
- Coordinating background check process and leading all on-boarding processes and paperwork
- Maintaining legal personnel information and reports
- Processing reimbursements and vendor invoices for payment
- Assisting with materials needed for legal staff annual evaluations
- Responding to data requests, reference checks and verification of employment requests
- Participating in special projects as needed
The successful candidate will demonstrate...
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; minimum of one year of related experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to compose, edit and proofread routine business correspondence
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills, with particular attention to detail and ability to respond to changing deadlines
- Strong focus on client service and responsiveness with excellent interpersonal skills
